Terms and Conditions

Introduction

These Terms and Conditions explain how bookings, cancellations, safety, and guest responsibilities work at Serene Nord. By booking an experience with us, you agree to the guidelines below.

Booking and Payment

  • All bookings are made through our website or by contacting us directly.
  • Payment is required to confirm your booking.
  • Each experience includes guiding, planning, and any items listed in the experience description.
  • Our group size is a maximum of four guests.
  • Minimum age requirements are stated on each experience page.
  • Private experiences are priced per group.
  • You will receive a confirmation email once your booking is completed.

Cancellation by Guest

  • You may cancel your booking up to 7 days before the experience for a full refund.
  • Cancellations made less than 7 days before the experience, caused by circumstances outside our control such as illness, travel disruptions, or other personal situations, cannot be refunded.
  • No‑shows are non‑refundable.

Cancellation by Serene Nord

We may cancel or adjust an experience if:

  • weather conditions make the route unsafe
  • unexpected circumstances arise
  • the guide becomes ill
  • conditions prevent us from delivering the experience as intended
  • fewer than two guests are booked for a non‑private experience

If we cancel, you will receive a full refund or the option to reschedule.

Weather and Safety

  • Weather in Northern Norway can change quickly, and routes may be adjusted for safety.
  • Guests must follow the guide’s instructions at all times.
  • Proper clothing and footwear are required.
  • We may end or adjust an experience if safety becomes a concern.

Wildlife, Northern Lights, and Foraging

  • Wildlife sightings are never guaranteed. Animals in Northern Norway live freely, and their presence depends on season, weather, and natural movement. We visit areas where wildlife is often seen, but sightings cannot be promised.
  • Northern lights sightings are never guaranteed. The aurora is a natural phenomenon that depends highly on clear sky and solar activity. We always do our best to find areas with better weather conditions, but visibility can vary from night to night.
  • Mushroom and berry availability varies by season and weather. During our foraging experience, we take only small amounts, by hand, to protect the abundance for wildlife and local foragers. Because these resources appear naturally, the harvest cannot be guaranteed.

Guest Responsibilities

  • Arrive on time at the meeting point.
  • Wear clothing suitable for the season and weather.
  • Inform us of any medical conditions that may affect your participation.
  • Respect nature, wildlife, and local residents.
  • Do not leave litter or disturb wildlife.
  • Follow all safety instructions during the experience.

Liability

  • Guests participate at their own risk.
  • Serene Nord follows safety guidelines and takes precautions during all experiences.
  • We are not responsible for loss or damage to personal belongings.
  • We are not liable for injuries caused by guest negligence or failure to follow safety instructions.

Privacy

  • We collect only the information needed to manage your booking and communicate with you.
  • We do not share personal information with third parties except for booking systems required to process your reservation.
  • Your information is handled with care and used only for booking‑related purposes.

Photography

  • You are welcome to take photos during the experience as long as it does not disturb nature or other guests.
  • If we take photos, you may choose not to be included.
  • We will always ask before using any guest photos for promotional purposes.
