Traditional Sledding in Bodø’s Winter Wonderland
Enjoy a gentle, fun sledding experience in Bodø’s winter wonderland, inspired by the way locals embrace the snow. If the weather allows, the moment may be rounded off with a quiet fireside pause in the crisp winter air.
Glide down the gentle snow slope with crisp winter air and fine snow brushing your face. Feel the gentle crunch of snow under your feet and settle into an authentic Arctic moment, just as locals do. The winter wonderland around you is quiet and open, illuminated by soft Arctic light that can turn the sky pink and purple when the sun rests below the horizon. On some days, there may even be a chance to spot moose moving quietly through the snowy terrain.
You may pause to shape a small snow figure or simply feel the texture of fresh powder in your hands. If conditions allow, warm yourself by the fire with hot drinks and traditional snacks, enjoying the glow of the flames against the crisp Arctic air.
What to expect
We begin with a drive to one of the gentle winter slopes, with the option to stop at scenic viewpoints along the way. Once there, we start the fun of sledding using traditional sledding boards or mats, just like the locals do. Between sledding rounds, we can take a short lunch break. Please bring your own food, as lunch is not included. Throughout the experience, we pause often to enjoy the winter wonderland and, if you wish, shape small snow figures in the fresh snow. If conditions allow, we may build a fire and warm ourselves with hot drinks and traditional snacks. Your guide will take photos during the day, giving you meaningful memories to bring home. This experience is designed for adults seeking fun yet serene winter moments in the Arctic.
