About Serene Nord
A micro‑tourism company in Bodø, offering quiet, gentle nature‑based experiences for small groups, with sustainability in mind.
Founder

Serene Nord was created as a calm alternative to crowded, mass tourism. It is founded and guided by Yati, a local guide with years of practical experience in the tourism industry in Northern Norway, including work as a Northern Lights guide. She has a genuine love for sharing the region’s hidden beauty. She holds a PhD in innovation in experience‑based tourism and a master’s degree in business creation and entrepreneurship from universities in Northern Norway, which support her approach to designing thoughtful, nature‑based experiences. She speaks English, Norwegian, Indonesian, Chinese, and some Korean, ensuring comfortable communication across cultures. Serene Nord is built on personal attention, genuine passion, and an understanding of the triple bottom line of sustainability.
Our approach
We believe travel should be calm, thoughtful, and connected to nature. Our experiences are designed for small groups, never more than four guests, so we can move quietly, blend in, and explore places that larger tours cannot reach. We choose routes that reflect the real Bodø: its beaches, forests, fjords, and the contrasting landscapes that make this region special. Every experience is shaped by the season. We follow the light, the weather, and the natural rhythm of the Arctic, offering moments that feel authentic. We guide unhurriedly, allowing time to pause, breathe, and take in the landscape.
Our values
- Small groups for a more personal and quiet experience
- Local routes and hidden gems known only to residents
- Calm pacing, designed for reflection and connection
- Multilingual guiding for international comfort
- Seasonal experiences shaped by nature, not schedules
- A focus on quality over quantity
Sustainability
Respect for nature, wildlife, and local residents is at the heart of Serene Nord. We keep our groups small so we can blend in and move as the locals do, visiting hidden gems without creating new trails that can add pressure to the environment. We leave each place exactly as we find it, or even better. During our foraging experience, we take only a little of everything, by hand, to help sustain the abundance for wildlife and local foragers. We use an environmentally friendly vehicle, and we support small local businesses by visiting museums and local cafés when they are open.
What we offer
Serene Nord is for travelers who seek quiet moments, local knowledge, and a deeper connection to Northern Norway. Every experience is crafted with care, shaped by the seasons, and guided with intention.
